About

It all begins with an idea,

Past Peers Protection Project was founded by survivors, for survivors. We are a collective of individuals who have experienced or are acquainted with those who have experienced institutional abuse in the troubled teen industry and are committed to exposing the truth, supporting those affected, and advocating for lasting reform.

Our vision has sparked a movement for change. The troubled teen industry, long operating out of sight, consists of for-profit programs and facilities that promise to reform struggling youth. However, countless survivors share devastating accounts of abuse, neglect, and lasting trauma inflicted within these systems.

Survivor Support – Providing emotional support, resources, and safe spaces for those healing from institutional abuse.

Advocacy & Policy Change – Working with lawmakers and organizations to push for legal protections and facility accountability.

Awareness & Education – Sharing survivor stories, educating the public, and exposing the harsh realities of the troubled teen industry.

Community Building – Uniting survivors, allies, and advocates to create a strong, supportive network.

Our Core Values

Empowerment: Equipping individuals with the tools and resources to reclaim their voices.

Accountability: Advocating for transparent and just systems.

Community: Fostering a sense of shared responsibility and mutual support.

Liberty: Upholding the fundamental rights of every individual.
